BASIC PURPOSE : The Pricing Analyst will support the pricing initiatives that directly impact revenue and profitability across the Merchandising and Operations Departments. This individual will contribute to the vision, goal setting, implementation and delivery of future pricing and analytical functions. This position also provides pricing insight to the Category Management Team to ensure consistent execution of Love’s pricing strategy with the goal of maximizing sales, profit or units. Collaborate with Category Management in defining, forecasting and analyzing possible pricing actions. The job will include interaction with internal and external Merchandising Department personnel, as well as the supplier community at Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores. The position requires becoming a subject matter expert in the pricing system.


  • Take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Love’s pricing strategy

  • Support the creation and maintenance of pricing rules or policies

  • Analyze volume, revenue and profit data to determine financial impact of pricing scenarios

  • Coordinate with Category Management to ensure alignment with the category and pricing, rules or strategies

  • Create and present pricing projects to Merchandising as well as other cross-functional teams

  • Produce regular scorecarding to determine impact and performance of historical price changes

  • Participate and/or lead competitive benchmarking initiatives

  • Collaborate with Category Managers, Operations and IT to ensure effective retail pricing

  • Participate in field visits to understand internal and competitive pricing strategies and execution

  • Lead future system integration projects as it pertains to pricing

  • Support any existing and future reporting or analytical needs

  • Other Duties As Assigned


  • BA degree in a relevant field, such as Finance, Economics, Marketing or Business Administration

  • 3+ years’ experience in retail, sales, marketing or operations with exposure to pricing systems and methodologies

  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of retail pricing systems

  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles and issue resolution techniques

  • NCR Enterprise Retail Merchandise Systems experience a plus



  • Ability to devise an analytical approach to solving business problems

  • Understanding basic pricing concepts such as price elasticities, promotional uplift, cannibalization and affinities

  • General understanding of the retail business environment

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills

  • Customer service driven

  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator

  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision

  • Travel required as needed

  • On-call availability
