BASIC PURPOSE : As the leader of Trillium’s Electric Vehicle (EV) business line, this individual will be responsible for effectively developing a “start-up” within the company. This business line is a year old and already has a number of vendor and customer relationships established, but the leader for this team will need to establish overall direction, budgetary goals, customer segments, target markets, and project pipeline. Trillium has multiple departments that can support the construction of EV charging stations, retail operations, maintenance, and the usual suite of accounting services; the leader in this position will need to leverage these in-house services to build a new business in the EV charging space. The overall vision and tactics determined by this individual will drive the success or failure of this business for the overall organization. This person will have a demonstrated ability to simultaneously coordinate a host of complex tasks, communicate PnL performance to senior management, manage multiple customer relationships, and lead team members across multiple departments. This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong analytical skills, show attention to detail, and possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine strategic direction of overall EV Charging business

  • Generate budgetary expectations and commercial goals pursuant to this strategy

  • Provide guidance to sales, engineering, and commercial teams in developing the project pipeline for EV charging

  • Contribute to pricing decisions for sale of retail charging, station construction, and O&M opportunities

  • Participate in key industry groups and grow exposure for Trillium as a player in EV charging marketplace

  • Facilitate ongoing opportunity development in coordination with appropriate sales team members

  • Develop critical industry relationships: vendors, customers, regulators, and associations

  • Guide regulatory strategy and determine lobbying efforts necessary to support business line

  • Identify key government funding opportunities to support the business line and specific opportunities

  • Create pro formas showing financial projections for potential business opportunities

  • Coordinate legal review of all contracts and commercial terms (leveraging in-house counsel) to ensure risks have been captured appropriately

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience

  • 2-3 years’ industry experience preferred

  • Background in business development preferred

  • Background in sales preferred

  • Familiar with government customers

  • Familiar with contracting, price negotiation, PnL, and income statements

  • Able to manage multiple customer, vendor, and internal relationships

  • Salesforce experience preferred
